Full job description

Vision Optometry is a very busy, well established Optometry clinic on the North Shore. Our focus is giving patients the best possible eye health care and outstanding customer service. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable optometric assistant to join our team in a full-time, long-term role. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently take initiative when needed.

An ideal candidate:

-Friendly, outgoing and works well as a team and independently

-Organized and detail oriented

-Handle busy periods with efficiency and professionalism

-Communicate effectively in English over the phone, in person and in written form

-Looking for a long term position with stable hours

- Make independent decisions when required

Responsibilities will include:

-Greeting and checking in patients upon arrival

-Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments

-Processing insurance benefits

-Processing payments/making invoices

-Faxing, filing/basic clerical duties

-Preliminary testing, gaining medical information relating to the eye exam and preparing the patient to see the doctor

Optical experience is an asset but not required.
