Full job description

North York Eye Associates is seeking Part-time Ophthalmic Assistant/ Technician to join our busy office team. We are looking for motivated individual who is willing to learn all aspects of the tech position while working well with our office team.

The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for offering quality customer service and ensuring that a high level of patient care is always maintained.

The duties of this position entail the tech to perform patient ophthalmic tests such as:

  • Visual acuity, auto-refraction, visual field, retinal photography, intraocular pressure measurement, and applying eye drops for anesthesia and dilation.
  • Taking patient's history and chart management
  • Diagnostic testing including visual fields, OCT, HRT,
  • IOLM, A-Scan, topography
  • Administrative duties including: Pre charting patient charts, IOLM calculations, keeping the tech rooms maintained and up to date.

Applicants should also possess the following qualities:

  • Flexible work schedule
  • Able to deal with a high volume of patients and effectively handle any concerns
  • Able to multitask efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Able to work in a team setting

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate

Experience working in the ophthalmology/ optometry field is desired; however, we will train the right candidate for the position.
