DESCRIPTION

As a Business Intelligence Engineer, this is your opportunity to be at the intersection of data, analysis, hiring, and strategy that will make it possible for our teams to fulfill that customer promise every day.

In this role, you will own data analytics projects from beginning to end, and will build reports, compile metrics, and own ad hoc and trend analysis. You will utilize business intelligence tools to analyze data and drive key recommendations. You will work with Talent Acquisition leadership to achieve business objectives and communicate insights to key stakeholders. You will recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity, analysis, validation, and documentation; and drive results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

You will provide analytical support for various Talent Acquisition programs, and build tools to surface timely, meaningful, and actionable data that will drive proactive decision making. Your analysis will contribute deeply to the development of our strategy and drive impact against our hiring objectives. You will collaborate with subject matter experts across Amazon to work through complex problems and to create unified scalable reporting solutions at an enterprise-wide level. You will have the opportunity to partner with the central HR Information Systems teams as an influencer on their next generation road map.

Key job responsibilities
  • Collaborate with recruiting operations, data scientists, and business leaders to define business processes and provide analytical support
  • Leverage code to analyze complex datasets and design, develop and evaluate data transformations to solve specific business problems
  • Build scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to facilitate customer-facing reporting
  • Automate TA processes to streamline business operations
  • Communicate verbally or in writing to business customers / leadership for sharing insights and recommendations
  • Build dashboards and reports for both recruiting leaders and the businesses they support
  • Perform complex data analysis across multiple systems to support both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Mine key performance indicators to discover root causes
  • Analyze business outcome data in order to identify relationships and trends; incorporate data visualization and statistical analyses

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • Bachelor's degree or above in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field, or 2+ years of Amazon RME (BB/3P) Full Time Exempt experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) to pull data from a database or data warehouse
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or above in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
