  • Lead pre-shift meetings, assign sections and side duties, and ensure the team is prepared for service
  • Monitor service flow and proactively address bottlenecks or operational issues during busy periods
  • Ensure staff are providing friendly, professional, and attentive hospitality at all times
  • Coach and develop staff on menu knowledge, product knowledge, suggestive selling, and guest engagement
  • Ensure staff follow proper restaurant communication and service standards, including appropriate FOH/BOH terminology
  • Assist with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and work toward appropriate resolutions
  • Maintain strong communication between the FOH and kitchen teams to ensure efficient service
  • Ensure food and beverage orders are accurate and presented according to The Lunch Lady's standards
  • Monitor table turns, reservations, wait times, and overall guest flow
  • Operate and troubleshoot Toast POS, including order processing, payments, discounts, voids, and cash handling
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and proper end-of-shift procedures
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and restaurant presentation
  • Ensure staff are following proper uniform and dress code requirements
  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures
  • Support inventory, opening, closing, and daily operational procedures as required
  • Act as a leader on the floor and set the standard for professionalism, punctuality, communication, and teamwork
  • Step into any FOH position when necessary to support the team and maintain smooth operations

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant service, hospitality standards, and FOH operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and professional leadership style with the ability to coach and motivate staff
  • Strong menu and product knowledge, with the ability to confidently answer guest questions and make recommendations
  • Experience with Toast POS or another restaurant POS system
  • Strong cash-handling and transaction-processing skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling practices
  • Ability to effectively handle guest complaints and difficult situations
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a fast-paced service environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and lead by example
  • Previous experience in Vietnamese or Asian cuisine is an asset
  • Serving, bartending, hosting, or kitchen experience is an asset
  • Serving It Right and FoodSafe certification are considered assets

What We're Looking For

You should be someone who:
