Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate registered Building Envelope EIT who is also certified as an Energy Advisor for our Vancouver office with exceptional attention to detail and a strong desire to grow professionally. Our ideal candidate possesses a positive attitude, is a quick learner, exceptionally organized and able to work efficiently on their own or as part of a team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop building envelope drawings for permit, both in residential, commercial and industrial sectors
  • Prepare detailed sketches, and construction documents related to building envelope systems.
  • Support senior engineers in performing analyses related to thermal performance, moisture management, and material selection for building envelopes.
  • Conduct Field Reviews
  • Work with the drafting team to develop building envelop drawings and details
  • Work closely with the other engineers in the office
  • Write technical reports
  • Completing projects under company guidelines, while meeting set deadlines to our internal high standards
  • Testing for air tightness via use of a blower door test
  • Energy modelling, report development, and advising the client of recommended and effective upgrades within their budget

Qualifications, Experience and skills

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Building Envelope
  • EIT Registration required
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Second language preferred (specifically Mandarin)
  • Experience/exposure to AutoCAD
  • Competent in MS Office
  • Knowledge of the National Building Code, BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Code
  • NRCan-resgistered Energy Advisor
  • Passive House Certification
  • Embodied Carbon Certification
  • Ability to work with the structural engineer assigned to the project, ensuring that the solutions are within clients expectations
  • Ability to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Ability to coordinate with the Project Management team to maintain a flow of information.
  • Ability to keep accurate filing systems.
  • Ability to follow corporate policies and procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Valid driver’s license with own vehicle and insurance
  • The ability to climb ladders, maneuver oneself into tight spaces, as well as lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually with limited supervision
  • Positive attitude

Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
