Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, BC is hiring Cooks 1 and 2 to join our year-round culinary team.


We’re looking for cooks at different experience levels who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering great food every day. Whether building skills or stepping into more responsibility, this is a good opportunity to grow within a professional kitchen.


  • This is a great fit for someone who:
  • Has 1 to 3+ years of professional kitchen experience
  • Works well under pressure and stays focused during service
  • Is comfortable either supporting a station or running one, depending on experience
  • Has flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Is passionate about cooking and being part of a kitchen team
  • Is motivated to learn and develop new skills
  • Brings a strong work ethic and a positive, team-first attitude

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and plate dishes efficiently and consistently, following established standards
  • Support smooth kitchen operations and communicate effectively with the team
  • Assist with prep work, planning, and daily kitchen organization
  • Run a station during service if experienced and ready to do so
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in your work area
  • Store, label, and rotate food properly to minimize waste
  • Assist with inventory and kitchen organization as needed
  • Follow all food safety and workplace safety standards
  • Contribute to a respectful and collaborative work environment
