Dealing with too many politics hinders you from doing your job properly. It is hard to be productive when everyone has a say and the manager in charge goes with the flow. It doesn't matter how qualified you are for the position, if the GM likes you even if you are a dummy then you're good.

They train you in hospitality when you don't have any experience. Good place to start if you're trying to get into that industry.
