Job Description: High School French Tutor

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and qualified High School French Tutor. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging instruction and hands-on learning. This role requires strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach French to high school students (Grades 9–12), aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
  • Deliver clear and engaging lessons that encourage inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with different academic backgrounds.
  • Prepare students for tests, exams, and university entrance requirements.
  • Provide regular progress updates and constructive feedback to students and parents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree an asset.
  • Proven experience teaching French, preferably within the Ontario curriculum.
  • Strong knowledge of French, with ability to teach up to Grade 12 university-prep level.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to make lessons engaging and interactive in a small-group or one-on-one tutoring format.
  • Certified member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) with a valid Ontario teaching certificate is a strong asset.
  • Passion for working with students and supporting their academic success.
