Company Overview

Established Residential Property Management Company, with 39 years of providing excellent customer service, is currently recruiting a full-time live-in Resident Caretaker or Resident Caretaker Couple to join our team.

The Resident Caretaker or Resident Caretaker Couple will be a member(s) of our Team collaborating with Managing Broker, Owner, Property Manager, Office Staff, and Contractors to facilitate requirements for 135 residential unit building in Vancouver, BC. Soroptimist House is a housing project located at 550 West 13 Avenue in Vancouver, and is the first development project in Western Canada developed, designed, and delivered by an entirely female team. This building requires a woman to be designated Resident Caretaker and listed as the primary occupant on the lease. Preference will be for a caretaker couple but both family and single individuals are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities consist of, but are not limited, to:

  • Assisting with showing of residential units; condition inspection reports.
  • Preparing suites for occupancy. Assisting with move-in/move-out/elevator bookings.
  • Building positive relationships with tenants and promptly responding to their concerns.
  • Ensuring and maintaining outstanding cleanliness at the building and the grounds and reporting for security concerns and preventative maintenance.
  • Attending to and performing minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, clearing drains, changing locks, hardware adjustments etc.
  • Trouble shooting and problem-solving unexpected emergencies; Respond to emergency calls quickly and efficiently (during both regular and after-hours).
  • Working effectively with other building team members.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and respecting boundaries for residents.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to work and live on-site.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse and inclusive populations.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills with the ability to solve problems, de-escalate, and build rapport with a wide variety of people.
  • Effective time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence, and a take charge attitude.
  • Working knowledge of the BC Residential Tenancy Act.
  • Knowledge and hands-on skills with light cleaning, suite/building systems and maintenance, and basic knowledge of landscaping and snow clearing.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. and climb a 5ft ladder.

Hours: Full-time

Compensation Package:

Single Person $57,928/annum.

Couple $57,928/annum for designated Resident Caretaker plus hourly min. wage ($18.25/hr.) for secondary person.

Rent Allowance: $1500/month

*Up to $800/annum/person for wellness.

Pay: $57,928.00 per year
