Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong understanding of kitchen operations, evening and weekend availability is required. This role is crucial in ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the kitchen staff in various tasks.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
  • Ensure all food handling and preparation complies with safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
  • Help in the training of new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning tasks at the end of shifts.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food handling procedures and safety regulations in the food industry.
  • Strong skills in meal preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a willingness to help others in the kitchen.
  • Knowledge of various cooking equipment and tools used in food preparation.
