Full job description

Techmation Electric & Controls is searching for a candidate to fill the position of District Manager with our Estevan branch. We require a dynamic and experienced individual to manage this office and to oversee the Instrumentation & Electrical operations in the area. As the successful candidate, you be required to take on a leadership role managing personnel and developing business opportunities.

This is a great career opportunity, and as the District Manager in the Estevan office you will manage:

  • Business development; meeting clients and establishing work within the area
  • Meeting client service expectations and relations
  • Hiring, scheduling, training and developing your team
  • Management of the office and maintaining on-going contracts
  • Monitors costs, productivity, and scheduling associated with the branch and area operations
  • Maximizes manpower and vehicle utilization within the branch and communicates regularly with other TECL locations
  • Monitors expenses, inventory, non-chargeable, and budget requirements in the branch on a monthly basis and reports to the Regional Manager
  • Provides technical assistance and recommendations for proper operations
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, provincial and local regulations and standards
  • Attend and participate in all on site project meetings and document all meeting activities
  • Provide supervision and monitoring of construction schedules and coordination of onsite technical work from start up to check out, commissioning and final project acceptance
  • Create detailed project work plans by identifying the resources, equipment, and financing needed for the successful execution, progress, and completion of the project
  • Oversees the management of day-to-day operational aspects of the projects and scope of work
  • Ensures all TECL policies and procedures are communicated and implemented
  • Setting a high standard for safety and quality workmanship
  • Ensure Techmation's Safety program is followed. Help maintain a high level of safety awareness and adherence in the position

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman Electrical OR Instrumentation Certificate with previous experience working within the industrial sector
  • Previous management experience including business development, cost control, scheduling, employee management, workforce planning, project management, and administration
  • Must have a strong knowledge in both electrical and instrumentation
  • Stronger customer service skills; formal training would be considered an asset
  • Excellent contract administration skills including the ability to review and execute the project based on the specific contract specifications
  • Facility construction and maintenance experience
  • Experienced in Project Management
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to address multiple conflicting priorities and responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to present oneself in a professional manner and represent the company image
  • Pro-active and decisive personality
  • Is a strong advocate of a team-based environment
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license (non GDL)
  • Candidates must have valid Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive & Fall Protection, Standard First Aid – Level A or C, and CSTS 2020 Certificates

Preference will be given to those located in the Estevan, SK area.
