Full job description

The Commissionaires, Northern Alberta Division is currently accepting applications from candidates who wish to work at the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre Detachment in Yellowknife, NWT.

The successful Commissionaire must be flexible in their work schedule and be able to deal with strong personalities, difficult situations and possess excellent communication skills. De-escalation techniques are a key requirement. The ability to work independently or part of a team is considered an asset. Primary duties include greeting applicants to the Canadian Armed Forces, access control, conducting security rounds while maintaining a security presence.

Candidates must have the following pre-requisites or be able to attend them prior to placement:

  • Standard First Aid;
  • Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT-with baton and handcuffs) Certificate.

The shifts are normally between 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, though the occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required. The wage is $29.48/hr plus Use of Force premium.
