Full job description

JOB DESCRIPTION / DUTIES

  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service and create positive guest experiences.
  • Take customers' orders and serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
  • Prepare, heat and finish simple food items; portion and wrap foods; and package take-out food.
  • Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit and use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs.
  • Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables; clear and clean tables, trays and chairs.
  • Operate dishwashers and wash dishes, glassware and flatware by hand; scour pots and pans.
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas and stock refrigerators and salad bars.
  • Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas.
  • Keep records of quantities of food used.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment.
  • Handle and store cleaning products; remove kitchen garbage and trash; sweep, mop, wash and polish floors.
  • Work cooperatively with team members in a fast-paced environment and perform other related food-service duties as assigned.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • Experience: No experience required; training will be provided. Customer service or quick-service experience is an asset.
  • Must be friendly, outgoing, reliable, client-focused and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work early morning, morning, day, evening, night and weekend shifts as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment, stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks and handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Equipment/machinery experience with conventional oven, deep fryer, electronic cash register, food dispensers and grill is an asset.

Salary: $15.35 to $17.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
