Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in the video, media, entertainment industry.
  • Experience in an external-facing customer interaction role within customer support, sales, or relationship development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project management experience, using project execution frameworks, with a high attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple time-sensitive projects at the same time.
  • Knowledge, experience and relationships with the Canadian YouTube content industry. Preferably in sports and gaming.
  • Objection handling, managing sensitive communication, and basic agreement negotiation.
  • Track record of achieving product adoption, content and growth goals for external partners.
  • French language skills would be a valuable asset.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including presentation, facilitation of small and large events, writing and delivery.

Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

The YouTube Partner Program engages millions of fast-growing content creators. The Scaled Partnerships team drives partner and product success at scale by acquiring, managing, and growing partners across all types and verticals. This team manages creators and companies that have reached specific revenue or strategic thresholds. Fast-paced, dynamic, and proactive, our goal is to responsibly grow creators, artists, and media companies through enriching one-to-one and one-to-many engagements, product activations, and virtual or in-person workshops.

As a Strategic Partner Manager (SPM), you will manage a portfolio of YouTube creators identified as strategic to our business objectives. You will drive product adoption and optimization across YouTube's platform priorities while assessing creators' needs, crafting growth plans, and delivering insights and strategies to enable their success. You will deliver against partner performance metrics and core program KPIs to maximize impact.

In this role, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and will build a working understanding of YouTube’s internal processes, products, and teams. You will support your team in deepening relationships with key partners and creators, helping them optimize and adopt features to enable YouTube's success.

You are developing your skills in relationship-building, negotiation, project management, and collaboration to contribute to organizational goals. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to resolve partner issues and educate creators on policies and best practices. Additionally, you will engage creators for pilots and beta testing, and develop compelling pitch resources.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Canada: $78000 - $80000 (CAD) + 15% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strategic, scaled partnerships across YouTube verticals through various engagement models to achieve long-term business goals.
  • Drive adoption of YouTube products and optimizations, directly supporting creators in achieving their unique content, business generation, and audience development targets.
  • Act as a primary guide for partners to ensure full adherence to community guidelines and business generation policies while navigating internal support and operations systems.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to identify emerging trends, troubleshoot potential issues, and implement strategies that ensure sustained partner growth.
  • Partner with internal teams—including product, sales, and legal—to resolve complex business challenges and execute large-scale initiatives like workshops and events to share industry best practices.
