Accounting Coordinator (Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable)

We are seeking an Accounting Coordinator (AP/AR) to join our Finance team at our Cobourg, Ontario office.

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you'll play an important role in supporting our day-to-day financial operations. This position focuses primarily on Accounts Payable (60–70%), while also supporting Accounts Receivable (30–40%).


This is an essential on-site position requiring attendance at our Cobourg office five (5) days per week.


What You'll Do

  • Process vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments accurately and on time
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Support claims payments and monthly broker commission processing
  • Assist with accounts receivable, including payment application, invoicing, account reconciliations, and responding to customer inquiries
  • Support month-end accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, brokers, policyholders, and vendors
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team while supporting other administrative activities as required

What You'll Bring

  • College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and computerized accounting systems
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality

Assets include:

  • General accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Experience with insurance systems (such as Cognition+)
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry
