Full job description

FreshPoint, a division of Sysco, is the largest produce distributor in North America, we focus on bringing fresh food from the farmer's field to our customers' kitchens. FreshPoint operations span more than 30+ distribution centers in the US and Canada. We target regional and national foodservice customers in such markets as catering, healthcare, hospitality, restaurants, and schools. FreshPoint also supplies grocery stores and other wholesale suppliers with apples to zucchini and everything in between. We're looking for talented, hard-working individuals to join our team. The Outbound Selector is a key member of the warehouse team responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders for delivery. This role requires a higher level of skill and responsibility, demonstrating increased efficiency, accuracy, and the ability to handle more complex orders.

Schedule :

Sunday , Monday , Tuesday , Thursday and Friday - 02:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M.

Wednesday and Saturday - OFF

Pay Range - $ 23.50/hour - 24.50/hour

Responsibilities:

Order Selection:

  • Palletize and effectively organize finished products.
  • Organize finish product cooler and put away at the end of production.
  • Vigilantly monitor product quality.
  • Coordinate with other workstations to ensure order competition.
  • Put away finish product and raw material at the end of the shift.
  • Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.

Equipment Operation:

  • Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.

Teamwork:

  • May assist in training new selectors on safe work practices and order selection procedures.
  • Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations.

Skills:


  • Order Selection: Proven ability to accurately and efficiently select orders with minimal errors.

  • Equipment Operation: Proficiency in operating material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and voice-directed picking systems.

  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy when selecting and staging orders.

  • Safety Awareness: Strong awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist in training new team members.

Certifications:


  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Voice-directed picking system training preferred.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Experience:

2+ years of experience
