Overview
Billboard Canada is seeking a commercially driven and highly connected sales leader to join our growing team as Manager, Media Sales & Partnerships. This role is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth through integrated sponsorships, branded content partnerships, custom programs, experiential activations, and tentpole events across Billboard Canada’s media ecosystem.

Reporting directly to the Head of Partnerships, the successful candidate will play a key role in expanding Billboard Canada’s commercial footprint across the Canadian market while building meaningful partnerships with brands, agencies, lifestyle companies, and cultural organizations.

This role requires a strong understanding of media sales, integrated marketing, experiential sponsorships, digital advertising, branded entertainment, and the evolving music and culture landscape. The ideal candidate brings an established network within the advertising and entertainment industries, a proven track record in partnership sales, and experience developing multi-platform campaigns that connect brands with audiences through culture.

Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities: Sponsorship & Partnership Sales
  • Prospect, pitch, and close sponsorship and media sales opportunities across branded content, experiential activations, editorial franchises, live events, and custom partnership programs

Tentpole Events & Experiential Partnerships

  • Develop sponsorship strategies and revenue opportunities for Billboard Canada’s tentpole events and live experiences, including award shows, conferences, showcases, summits, artist experiences, and cultural activations
  • Package and sell integrated sponsorship opportunities inclusive of on-site branding, naming rights, experiential activations, hospitality, content capture, social amplification, and audience engagement opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, production, and events teams to develop commercially viable partnership concepts and execution plans
  • Ensure all sponsorship deliverables are executed at a best-in-class standard and aligned with client objectives

Branded Content & Digital Media

  • Drive revenue across branded online content, video, social media, custom content, newsletters, digital campaigns, and audience amplification initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with internal creative and editorial teams to develop compelling multi-platform storytelling opportunities for partners
  • Develop strategic programs that align advertisers with Billboard Canada’s authority in music, culture, entertainment, and youth audiences
  • Identify opportunities for cross-platform integration across live events, digital media, social, experiential, print, video, and international syndication opportunities where applicable
  • Develop and execute integrated sales strategies aligned with Billboard Canada’s commercial objectives and growth targets
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities across key categories including music, entertainment, technology, telecommunications, automotive, financial services, consumer packaged goods, alcohol, fashion, gaming, and lifestyle brands
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brands, agencies, media buyers, and marketing decision-makers across Canada
  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through pitch development, proposal creation, negotiation, contracting, and closing

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, media sales, partnership development, branded content, experiential marketing, or integrated marketing
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets within media, entertainment, sports, music, or cultural sectors
  • Strong understanding of digital advertising, branded content, experiential sponsorships, and integrated marketing strategies
  • Existing relationships across brands, agencies, entertainment, and media industries within Canada
  • Exceptional presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Experience developing sponsorship decks, proposals, integrated campaigns, and partnership strategies
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Passion for music, culture, entertainment, and media
