About Us

Borough Bar & Grill is a high-performing restaurant known for polished service, thoughtful food and beverage, and a lively, welcoming atmosphere. We balance genuine hospitality with operational excellence, creating an environment where both guests and teams thrive.

Borough is part of Murrieta’s Hospitality, a Calgary-based restaurant group dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences in vibrant, guest-driven settings. Since opening Murrieta’s West Coast Bar & Grill in 2001, the group has expanded into both urban and destination markets, building a reputation for quality, consistency, and strong service culture.

We are committed to developing leaders who value culture, accountability, and results, and who take pride in creating standout guest experiences.

The Role

The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant operations, including team leadership, guest experience, and financial performance. This role requires a highly engaged, hands-on leader with strong emotional intelligence and business acumen.

You will set the tone for the restaurant—warm, professional, and accountable—while driving a culture of hospitality, performance, and continuous improvement. Success in this role comes from being present on the floor, building and developing strong teams, and executing consistently at a high level.

As General Manager, you will oversee day-to-day operations, inspire a strong service culture, and ensure the restaurant operates efficiently and profitably while continuing to evolve and grow within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing front-of-house management team and staff
  • Maintain a polished yet approachable standard of service that reflects the Borough brand
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and employment standards
  • Manage budgets, labour controls, cost of goods (COGS), inventory, and financial reporting
  • Drive sales through strong service execution, community engagement, and local marketing initiatives
  • Foster a positive team culture rooted in accountability, communication, and guest connection
  • Partner closely with the Chef and operations team on strategic planning and execution
  • Maintain a strong on-floor leadership presence, particularly during peak service periods
  • Ensure smooth, efficient day-to-day operations

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a high-volume, polished casual or upscale environment
  • Strong financial acumen, including labour management, P&L oversight, and inventory control
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Hands-on, people-first leadership style
  • Ability to perform and lead effectively in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
