Full job description

We are actively seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team on a construction project.

This is not a desk job. We are looking for an active, "boots-on-the-ground" CSO who is visible on-site, ready to assist with site logistics, and capable of maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a candidate with strong dependability and performance for a potential permanent Full-Time hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of visibility on the construction site. This role requires you to be out of the office, actively monitoring work areas.
  • You will assist with material movement and general site cleanup to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Conduct rigorous safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards specific to high-rise construction.
  • Confidently manage safety documentation, ensuring accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and incident reports are maintained.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Provide toolbox talks and training sessions for employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper PPE usage.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Work closely with project managers and site personnel to foster a culture of safety compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO), preferably on high-rise or large-scale commercial projects.
  • Must be a currently active/certified Construction Safety Officer.
  • Strong dependability is non-negotiable. We are looking for a high-performer who takes initiative.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including moving materials and maintaining site cleanliness.
  • Proficiency in construction management software for tracking safety metrics and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey safety information to diverse teams.
  • Deep understanding of local safety regulations, risk management, and high-rise construction hazards.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to prove your value on a major project. While the schedule starts as part-time, we are specifically looking for a candidate to grow into a core member of our team full-time based on performance.
