Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Secretary/Law Clerk to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support legal professionals by managing administrative tasks, conducting research, and ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for the legal field. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, and review legal documents, correspondence, and filings with precision and accuracy
  • Have knowledge of the Family Law legal forms and the use of the Divorcemate program
  • Have knowledge of and ability to use the Courts online filing portal for family and occasional civil matters
  • Type court documents prepared by lawyer
  • Manage and prepare Confirmations filed For Conferences and Motions
  • Upload court briefs and exhibits to Casecentre
  • Manage case files and maintain organized physical filing systems
  • Assist with data entry, document management, and record keeping to ensure all case information is current and accessible
  • Support project management tasks related to ongoing cases including scheduling and deadline tracking
  • bill legal aid accounts using the Legal Aid portal
  • Perform clerical duties such as answering phones with professional etiquette, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars
  • Qualifications
  • Proven administrative experience within a legal setting or related field
  • Strong proofreading, writing, and legal drafting skills to produce clear, accurate documents
  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis or similar platforms
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
  • Experience with Divorcemate and the electronic filing system
  • Demonstrated project management abilities to coordinate tasks effectively
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and other staff
  • Answer some emails and forward them to clients

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
