Position Summary:

The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager will oversee all procurement, vendor management, sourcing, and inbound logistics activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and finished goods. This role works closely with suppliers, freight providers, customs brokers, inventory planning, production, engineering, and finance teams. The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing environments and is comfortable managing both domestic and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement and Supplier Management

  • Manage purchasing activities for production materials, components, packaging, and indirect supplies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements.
  • Maintain the BOM and BOM pricing within our ERP
  • Ensure continuity of supply and proactively mitigate supply risks.

Supply Chain and Logistics

  • Coordinate inbound shipments from domestic and offshore suppliers.
  • Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers.
  • Manage import documentation, duties, tariffs, and customs compliance.
  • Track shipments and resolve logistics delays or disruptions.
  • Monitor freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Inventory and Planning

  • Review inventory levels and demand forecasts.
  • Generate purchase orders and replenishment plans.
  • Support inventory optimization while maintaining service levels.
  • Monitor stock shortages and expedite materials as required.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers for existing and new materials.
  • Support new product development initiatives through supplier sourcing and quotation activities.
  • Conduct cost comparisons and supplier evaluations.
  • Assist with supplier audits and qualification processes.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate resolution of supplier quality issues.
  • Work with suppliers on corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement and supply chain processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing international suppliers and overseas sourcing.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding, customs, duties, and import/export processes.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • APICS, SCMP, PMAC, or related certification considered an asset.

Preferred Experience:

  • Manufacturing or industrial products.
  • Electromechanical components.
  • Small-to-medium business environment.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives.
