Job Summary

We are seeking a Program Coordinator to join our team as soon as possible. The Strive 4 Work Program Coordinator supervises the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of Strive 4 Work Earn programs or services to accomplish the Agency’s mission. This role provides operational oversight and direct front-line support.

The position is temporary and will remain active until March 2027, with the possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities

Supervisory

  • Set up and oversee the office-based operations of the skill training/job placement program.
  • Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the Agency’s policies, processes and procedures.
  • Research, develop, revise and implement program activities according to the expectations of the contract and the needs of the participants with disabilities.
  • Lead and supervise human resources initiatives and activities for direct reports, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, training and general support.
  • Supervise staff workloads and schedules, including the distribution of duties and management of requests for time off of those staff directly under this position.
  • Ensure monthly reports and statistics are done appropriately, timely and outcomes are being met.
  • Assist staff in the development, scheduling and delivery of group activities to prepare clients with disabilities to explore, secure and maintain employment.
  • Undertake special tasks, research, projects and other assignments within the Agency.

Project Activities

  • Oversees the marketing, recruitment, selection, assessment and service delivery for potential participants
  • Conducts individual assessment interviews to assist in the identification of employment barriers, employability and learning needs and the development of appropriate client service plans and determines client suitability for the project
  • Utilize action planning strategies, support, monitor and coach participants’ progress toward employment and/or educational goals
  • Ensures participants receive services in a manner that meets social/economic and career information and employment-related needs, including assessment, referral to appropriate external professions/services, one-to-one, workshops and other proposed services
  • Oversees, monitors and tracks participant flow into project service delivery through to work experience and employment placement and outcome attainment
  • Ensures participant information is accurately and regularly captured in EmployAbilities databases and through other statistical processes as required by the project
  • Identifies and implements project changes as necessary to enhance results
  • Ensures monthly statistical and narrative processes are completed on time for Service Canada billing purposes
  • Oversees and coordinates with the Facilitator/Case Manager, Job Developer Coach, and liaison of employers for work experience and employment placement
  • Oversees the development of a participant training plan for employment coach activities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Social Work, Rehabilitation, Social Sciences, Special Education or sufficient experience in a field related to Rehabilitation, Personnel or Career Development.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous supervisory experience,
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities, barriers to employment or other at-risk populations.
  • Previous experience in employment-related intake and assessment, case management, facilitation, employment counselling and/or employment development is preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable regarding St. Albert and the surrounding area labour market, employers, businesses and job trends.
  • Must have a clear understanding of client confidentiality and ATIA and POPA.
  • Clear criminal record check.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office computer software.
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check.
