Job description

ABES College is looking for a talented instructor who seeks to make a difference in the lives of people in their community. If you have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Social Worker, Licensed Practical Nurse or Community Support Worker then becoming an Instructor might be right for you!

Our Addictions and Disability Community Support Worker Program offers a mix of theory and practical skills delivered by people just like you, who can offer real life experience to enhance the curriculum. While teaching experience is an asset, it is not necessary.

· Instruct and evaluate students

· Deliver content that meets program objectives as set out in the curriculum

· Stay up to date on changes within the industry and adjust curriculum accordingly

· Provide intellectually stimulating instruction by taking into consideration the needs of each student

· Provide support to students as required

· Prepare, administer and mark student assignments and exams

· Other duties as assigned which are necessary to support student success

Qualifications

· Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience as a Social Worker or LPN

. Diploma or Degree in Social Worker or LPN

. Excellent computer skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to problem solve

· Team orientated and adaptable

· Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity and awareness

· Strong communication and organizational skills

· Dependable and punctual

· Strong computer skills

· A passion for changing lives through education

· Minimum 2 years of teaching experience is an asset

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
