Summary

In preparation for an expansion in August, we are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Client Care team in an estimating and scheduling role. In this role, your primary focus will be to support our client-facing service advisors by estimating more complex repair operations and pre-building repair orders for upcoming appointments. This position will include stepping into a more traditional service advisor role as needed to cover team member vacations and so on. (Did you know that My Garage team members receive 5 weeks of paid time off per year? We'll get to that later.)

Qualifications & Responsibilities

This particular position demands a thorough understanding of vehicles, along with experience performing the following duties:

  • Using labour guides and understanding labour overlap between related jobs.
  • Using OEM service information to understand the full scope of a repair and the parts required.
  • Using OEM maintenance schedules.
  • Using digital parts catalogues to source parts from multiple vendors while considering quality, availability and cost.
  • Understanding vehicle systems, components and how they work.

Additional duties will include:

  • Editing technicians' digital inspection reports, including marking up photos: Adding text, arrows, circles, etc in order to illustrate points more clearly.
  • Explaining repairs and maintenance to clients, including prioritizing repairs in order of importance.
  • General client service including answering phone calls, emails and messages.

Compensation

Every My Garage team member receives a guaranteed, straight hourly wage with no commissions, incentives or other silly carrot-dangling involved. Anyone joining us in the estimator/scheduler role can expect to earn between $35 and $45 per hour depending on the value that they bring to the business. This value is influenced by many factors including:

  • Skill: How good are you at the job?
  • Attitude: Are you positive and a team player? Are you coachable?
  • Capacity: In support of the team, how many tasks can you complete every day? Can you multi-task when needed?
  • Professionalism: When interacting with our clients, how well to you represent the company?
  • Punctuality and reliability.

Along with their hourly wage, the successful applicant can expect to receive:
