Full job description

GPR Scanning Technician — Concrete Scanning & Cutting Division | $28–$40/hr | Edmonton, AB

Work – Concrete Scanning, Cutting, Coring, Demolition & Removal (Cutting Division)

Duration – Full-Time, Permanent

Locations – Edmonton-based (St. Albert shop) with periodic out-of-town work (2–7 days, ~15–30% of the year) across Northern Alberta, Eastern BC & Saskatchewan

Compensation – $28–$40/hr, based on capability and years of experience

Read the scan right, mark it clean — the whole crew cuts safe behind you.

New to concrete scanning? If you've run GPR or subsurface locating anywhere — utility locating, geophysics, NDT, mining, or UXO — your eye transfers. We train the concrete.

Why this is worth your time

  • Pay that scales with you. We pay for what you bring — from capable beginners to seasoned scanning pros.
  • No two days the same. A different site most days, with variety and travel across Alberta and beyond.
  • Top-tier gear. Brand-new GSSI Flex NX scanning system — the best tool on the market.
  • A team that means it. Quality, safety, and accountability are non-negotiable here.
  • A future, not just a job. A growing values & mission driven company — and, for the right person, the chance to help build and run an expanding scanning division.

What you'll run

  • Scan with our GSSI Flex NX to locate embedded hazards before any cut, core, demo, or removal
  • Interpret the data, mark it on the deck, and brief the crew
  • Document clean — work orders, job notes, and reports via GoCanvas & Jobber
  • Run electric core drills and back up the saw and core crews when scanning is light
  • Drive truck & trailer, cube van, cargo van, or pickup to sites across city, rural, and industrial environments
  • Keep the gear right — daily cleaning, preventative maintenance, basic repair, and condition reporting

What you bring

  • GPR / subsurface scanning experience — capable beginners considered, experienced operators preferred (pay scales to capability)
  • Sharp attention to detail; you read and interpret scan data accurately
  • Clear written communication for work orders, job notes, and reports
  • Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing daily work
  • Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) licence, clean 3-year abstract
  • Can clear all industrial/plant site access requirements (safety tickets, D&A testing)
  • CSTS 2020 (free, online, non-expiring via ACSA)
  • Saturday availability as schedules require
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to have: Saw/core cutting experience (extends your role + earns a hybrid premium) · GoCanvas / Jobber · industrial or energy project background · First Aid / OHSA · silica awareness.
