Full job description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administrative tasks include booking appointments, sending referrals and faxes, answering messages, prioritizing and following up with patients’ appointments, and attending to tasks assigned by the physician.
  • Provide professional service to all existing and new patients
  • Respond promptly to all patient inquiries via phone or in person.
  • Create and maintain electronic patient records.
  • Administer patient billing for uninsured services, collect overdue payments and process receipts.
  • Billing and submit OHIP billings to the MOH.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office programs, and email.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage difficult patients. Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Training will be given.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Certificate or Diploma in Medical Office Administration is an asset
  • 2-3 years’ experience in medical care setting is REQUIRED.
  • Accuro EMR experience is an asset.
  • Customer service skills with passion for providing quality and compassionate care.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented and a successful multi‑tasker.
  • Quick learner and efficient with technology
  • Dependability, punctuality and excellent attendance are essential.
