Full job description

Our client is seeking a senior Clinical Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Expert to provide medical and scientific advisory services supporting an independent review of traumatic brain injury claims processes.

The successful consultant will provide expertise on TBI assessment, diagnosis, treatment pathways, rehabilitation practices, and alignment between clinical best practices and insurance claim processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical expertise related to traumatic brain injury assessment and recovery
  • Review alignment between medical best practices and claims handling processes
  • Assess diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation pathways
  • Translate complex clinical information into operational and insurance-related recommendations
  • Support claims file reviews, stakeholder discussions, and advisory recommendations
  • Provide expert input supporting regulator-ready findings and reporting

Required Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in TBI assessment, treatment, research, or clinical advisory roles
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Traumatic brain injury diagnosis
    • Severity classification
    • Neurocognitive and behavioural impacts
    • Rehabilitation and recovery pathways
  • Experience with:
    • Independent Medical Evaluations (IME)
    • Expert advisory engagements
    • Insurance claims processes
    • Legal/regulatory testimony or expert witness support

Qualifications:

  • Advanced clinical designation preferred:
    • MD (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physiatry)
    • PhD Neuroscience / Neuropsychology
    • Registered Neuropsychologist or equivalent
  • Licensed to practice in Canada preferred

Additional Assets:

  • Board certification in Neurology or Physical Medicine
  • Certified Neuropsychologist designation
  • Tribunal/court expert witness experience
