THE OPPORTUNITY

The Student Assistant is responsible for completing a range of clerical tasks to assist with upholding department operations. This may include, but is not limited to data entry, scanning, filing, and shredding documents, preparation of excel reports and data review for quality. They will also assist with the implementation of projects as required, including assisting with coordination of Agency events.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and experience with using Microsoft word and excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Prior experience with clerical tasks is an asset.
  • Experience assisting with event planning and participation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations.

Education – High School Diploma

  • Must be enrolled and/or intending to enroll in post-secondary education during the academic year.

Successful applicants will be required to provide:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • A valid class G Ontario driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
  • Clear Police Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search

Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
