Appliance Installer — Contract Position

Location: GTA and surrounding areasJob Type: Independent contractor / hourly

We are looking for an appliance installer to work on new-build condominium and subdivision projects.

This is a contract position paid on an hourly basis. Work volume may vary by project, but consistent work is available for reliable installers who produce clean, efficient work.

Responsibilities

  • Install residential appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, microwaves, washers and dryers
  • Complete required testing after installation
  • Take clear installation and deficiency photos
  • Report damaged, missing or unsuitable appliances and site conditions
  • Complete installation-related service calls and deficiencies
  • Remove installation garbage and leave suites clean
  • Follow manufacturer instructions, building requirements and project procedures
  • Communicate professionally with site supervisors and project management

Requirements

  • Some experience in appliance installation, construction, or a related trade is an asset (training may be provided for the right candidate)
  • Must operate through your own registered business or sole proprietorship
  • Business number and HST number (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable vehicle capable of carrying tools and installation materials
  • Basic hand tools (specialized tools can be discussed)
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to work independently and meet project schedules
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Smartphone capable of taking and submitting clear photos and reports
  • Working at Heights certification (required for site access)
  • WHMIS certification (current)
  • 4 Steps to Worker Awareness training (completed and up to date)

Compensation

  • Hourly pay (rate to be discussed with qualified applicants)
  • Materials and standard installation parts are provided
  • Contractors are responsible for their own vehicle, fuel, tools, taxes and business expenses
  • Additional compensation may apply for authorized service work or non-standard installations
  • Parking fees will be compensated

Gas appliance work may only be completed by contractors holding the required gas licence. Electrical, plumbing, cabinetry, countertop or structural alterations are not included unless specifically authorized.

We welcome both experienced installers and motivated individuals looking to grow in the trade.
