Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated daytime Cleaner to join our team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at the RCMP detachment in Little Grand Rapids. The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas are hygienic, safe, and presentable, contributing to a positive environment for staff and visitors. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks in commercial settings, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces in designated areas
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas according to established standards
- Shifts are 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday
- Handle waste disposal and recycling procedures appropriately
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively
- Conduct routine facilities maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or minor repairs when necessary
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning or facilities maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Must be able to pass a Reliability Clearance through the RCMP
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and efficiency
- Strong organizational skills and reliability are essential for maintaining high standards of cleanliness
