Bartender

Rodd Grand Yarmouth Hotel is a full-service waterfront hotel located in the heart of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. With a busy lounge, a full-service restaurant, and a strong banquet operation, Rodd Grand Yarmouth offers a dynamic and fast-paced hospitality environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced and customer-focused Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team on a Full-time basis, working in Haley's Lounge, Gales Restaurant, and banquet operations. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality and enjoys creating memorable guest experiences through excellent service and quality beverages.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to hotel standards
• Engage with guests, take orders, and provide drink and menu recommendations
• Ensure responsible alcohol service, including verifying age and monitoring guest consumption
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area
• Support up-selling and promote beverage features and specials
• Handle cash, process payments, and balance transactions using POS systems
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, and replenishment as required
• Wash glassware and maintain cleanliness of bar and work areas
• Support banquet bar service as required
• Comply with all food safety, beverage service, and liquor regulations

Key Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be 19 years of age or older and eligible to serve alcohol in Nova Scotia
• Responsible Beverage Service Certification required
• Previous bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or lounge setting preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash accurately
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Physically able to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 lbs as required
