Full job description

Terminal: Laval

Working Hours: 7AM to 7PM (end time depends on volume or possible delays)

Working days: Monday to Friday

No work on Holidays

No work on weekends

What you will do:

  • Drive a Class 3 truck - Automatic
  • Deliver freights to assigned stops within GMA - 12 deliveries and up to 6 pick-ups/day
  • Deliver freights in good condition and within scheduled time
  • Load and Unload freight in proper route sequence with the use of a dolley and or manual pallet truck
  • Lifts up to 75lbs - Physical work
  • Use a handheld device to scan documents and freights
  • Complete any necessary paperwork accurately
  • Perform all safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspection
  • Report on all safety hazards and accidents
  • Use a cellular phone to communicate with dispatch ie. Truck breakdowns, delivery concerns, answer calls, texts etc….
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Build strong client relationships
  • Adhere to safety and compliance regulations
  • Additional duties as required

What you will get:

Hourly paid $23.00/hr.

What we require of you:

  • French is a must
  • High School Diploma
  • Must have a valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence
  • Clean Commercial Driver's Abstract
  • Minimum 1 year Commercial tractor trailer driving experience locally or minimum 2 years’ experience as a City Truck Driver
  • Day shift - Monday to Friday working 12 hours/day
  • Load and Unload freight in proper sequence with the use of a dolley and or pallet truck (12 deliveries and up to 6 pick-ups daily)
  • Capable of doing physical labour – lift up to 75lbs.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork
  • Experience with courier service is an asset
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Customer Focus – experience providing quality customer service
  • Adaptable to change
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work on a team and being a team player
  • Must be comfortable with using onboard or handheld computer devices
  • Must have a safety and compliance mind set
