Full job description
At Wordbird Clinic, we’re searching for the kind of speech therapist people naturally recommend—the one clients remember for both their knowledge and how they made them feel. If your warmth helps clients feel hopeful and supported, and you take pride in delivering thoughtful, client-centred care, we’d love to meet you.
We’re a hybrid clinic serving families across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, PEI, and Yukon, and we’re excited to be expanding our in-person care in Alberta. We’re building something long-term and intentional, and this is an opportunity to grow with us.
Beyond providing meaningful care, our model is designed to support you. You have the freedom to shape a schedule that truly fits your life—whether that’s a few hours a week or a full caseload. You’ll also be part of a small, supportive team that shares resources, connects regularly, and learns from one another. We handle the operations and logistics so you can stay focused on your clients and your craft.
What it feels like to work here
- You set your schedule
- You have a team of 6 experienced SLPs you can lean on
- You’re supported, not micromanaged
- You keep learning in a natural, collaborative way
- You do meaningful work—and still have space for your life outside of it
What you’ll be doing
- Assessing and treating paediatric and/or adult clients
- Building individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Supporting families and caregivers with practical, clear guidance
- Tracking progress and adjusting plans as needed
- Collaborating with other professionals
What we provide (so you don’t have to worry about it)
- Flexible scheduling that works around your life
- Clients assigned to you as they come in
- Full access to assessment tools, materials, and resources
- Jane EMR for all documentation, billing, and scheduling
- Ongoing learning through real collaboration with your team
- A genuinely supportive environment where people show up for each other
You’d be a great fit if you:
- Care deeply about your clients and the quality of your work
- Want flexibility without sacrificing consistency
- Value being part of a collaborative, kind team
- Like the idea of growing somewhere long-term
- Are organized, communicative, and self-directed
Qualifications:
- Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
- Currently registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Bilingual or Multi-lingual language skills are an asset
- Completion of a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
The bottom line
