Inside Sales Representative – Building Materials
Kelowna, BC
Our industry leading client is a national distributor and wholesaler that services the Construction and Home Builders market. With a history of strategic growth and strong leadership, this Canadian distributor is looking to add to their team in Kelowna, to further support their well-established customer base. They are motivated to add an Inside Sales professional with a customer first approach who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing orders, preparing quotes, and responding to customer inquiries through multiple channels. This role supports daily branch operations through accurate order processing, invoice management, customer communication, and coordination with internal teams to ensure efficient service and workflow. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Greet, welcome, and assist visitors in the showroom.
- Provide customer service at the sales counter, by phone, and via email, including handling inquiries, processing orders, and preparing quotes.
- Support outside sales by managing calls, entering orders, and assisting with customer account needs.
- Coordinate with other branches to manage workload and ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor delivery routes using GPS to provide accurate arrival updates and improve efficiency.
- Follow internal procedures for documentation, invoicing, and workflow processes.
- Notify customers of back-order availability and maintain accurate communication records.
- Maintain accurate data entry for invoices, ensuring detailed descriptions and correct quantities.
- Track and review invoices daily to prevent errors and ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Maintain up-to-date sales data, assist with lead generation, and support the outside sales team as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong, confident communication skills with the public across phone, email, and in‑person interactions
- Creative problem solver with the ability to make sound, on‑the‑spot decisions
- Background in customer service, inside sales, counter sales, or order desk considered an asset
- Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently with a positive, energetic, and approachable demeanor
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- 1–3 years of experience in scheduling, dispatching, customer service, or operations (asset)
- Experience in the construction industry (asset)
- Desire for long‑term employment and contributing to company success
- Strong people skills and team‑oriented mindset
Compensations & Benefits :
- Base Salary: 50,000-60,000K based on experience
