The latest generation of artificial intelligence tools is already changing the hiring process dramatically, removing friction for hiring professionals and candidates alike. 

According to a new survey by Indeed, 87% of human resources and talent acquisition leaders and nearly 70% of job seekers are currently using AI systems and tools for everything from drafting job descriptions on the hiring side to researching companies on the applicant side. The survey found that the majority of both HR/TA leaders and job seekers were optimistic that AI tools would free them up to focus on the more “human” sides of their work. 

But this transformational technology also comes with substantial risks: the risk of bias, job replacement, and general fears about machines making decisions without a human in the loop. According to the survey, roughly 70% of HR/TA leaders and job seekers believe AI tools will benefit corporations by reducing the cost of workers — rather than creating more jobs.
