Yard Maintenance/Service Technician

Our client, a local trailer sales & service company, is seeking a Yard Maintenance/Service Tech-Assistant to join their team located in Owen Sound, ON. This is a permanent, full-time position with hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday — no weekends required. This permanent position offers a competitive wage of $20.00 to $22.00 per hour based on experience with an immediate start available.

About The Role

The Yard Maintenance/Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and overall functionality of the yard, shop, and trailer inventory. This hands-on role includes performing routine trailer inspections, completing general maintenance and repairs, assisting with trailer assembly and accessory installation, and ensuring all equipment is safe and ready for customer use. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Requirements for the role include, but are not limited to:

• Performing Inspections on Trailers Prior to Customer Pick-Up to Ensure Safety & Quality Standards are Met
• Assisting with Hitch Installations & Trailer Accessory Assembly
• Conducting Equipment & Inventory Checks to Ensure All Trailers & Equipment are Functioning Properly
• Assisting The Maintenance Team with Repairs, Troubleshooting, & General Shop Duties as Required
• Maintaining Cleanliness & Organization of The Yard, Shop, & Work Areas
• Assisting With Painting, Cleaning, & Preparation of Trailers & Equipment
• Performing General Yard Maintenance, Including Organizing & Moving Trailers as Needed
• Following Company Safety Procedures & Maintaining A Safe Working Environment
• Completing Other Duties & Special Projects as Assigned

Requirements

• Ability To Read & Write in English
• Mechanical Aptitude or Previous Mechanical Experience Preferred
• Ability to Work Independently & as Part of a Team
• Strong Attention to Detail
• Steel-Toed Shoes Required
• Ability to Perform Physically Demanding Tasks & Work Outdoors When Required
• Reliable & Dependable Work Ethic
• Tools Will be Provided by The Company
