Our client, a well-established full service plumbing, heating, cooling and electrical company based in Owen Sound, ON, is currently looking for a Licensed HVAC Installer/Technician to assist at their busy Owen Sound location. This is a full-service position working with both commercial and residential clients to perform a variety of tasks including general repairs, maintenance, and installation. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary range between $35.00 - $45.00 per hour based on experience.

About The Role

The successful candidate will have experience working in residential, commercial and industrial installations. Be confident and comfortable with their skill level regarding installations, repairs and maintenance regarding HVAC Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installing New Systems &/or Equipment at Customer Locations According to Work Order
  • Ensuring a Thorough & Current Knowledge of Venting & Gas Codes, Electrical, & Plumbing
  • Referring to Furnace Manuals & Appliance/Technical Manuals When Necessary to Complete Job
  • Correctly Interpreting Assembly & Wiring Diagrams
  • Troubleshooting Issues to Ensure The System/Equipment is in Working Order Prior to Leaving The Customer Location
  • Preparing & Filing Work Orders for Completed Jobs Accurately & on Time
  • Maintaining Company Vehicle Appearance & Orderliness & Carrying Appropriate Tools & Stock
  • Abiding By All Health & Safety Practices While on All Job Sites Including Proper Dealing with Carbon Dioxide & Natural Gas
  • Performing Other Duties as Assigned by The Manager
  • Occasional on-call rotation required, approximately every 4–5 weeks

Qualifications

  • Valid G Drivers License
  • Holding A G2 Gas License & Current ODP Certification
  • Being a Licensed Refrigeration Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, Sheet Metal Mechanic, or Equivalent Preferred (Training Available)
  • Maintaining Current Ontario College of Trades Membership
  • Holding First Aid / CPR Certification Preferred (Training Available)
  • Demonstrating Strong Knowledge of Gas Codes, Safety Regulations, & Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Identifying Safety Risks & Responding Appropriately
  • Communicating Technical Information Clearly to Customers with Strong Communication Skills
  • Providing Excellent Customer Service & Attention to Detail
  • Having A Minimum of Two Years of Related Experience Preferred
  • Traveling Frequently to Local Customer Locations
  • Lifting & Handling Materials Ranging From 30–100 Lbs
  • Performing Physical Work Including Walking, Standing, Climbing Ladders/Stairs, Kneeling, & Crouching
