Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department at our Nisku office. The successful candidate will navigate the financial direction of the company, managing the complexities of the oilfield industry while ensuring financial efficiency, effectiveness and profitability.

Key Responsibilities: Including but not limited to;

  • Coordinate and manage all high-level financial functions including reporting, tax planning, assets, cash flow, and short and long-term strategic financial and business planning.
  • Develop and manage the company's budgets and forecasts. Monitor variances and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Oversee all AP/AR functions; monitor cash/account balances to ensure the company can meet its financial obligations.
  • Maintain property and equipment records, including depreciation schedules.
  • Implement strategies to optimize cash resources and identify/mitigate financial losses.
  • Lead, support and mentor the accounting team by providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Present findings and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Continuously assess and enhance financial processes, systems, and policies to improve operations and increase efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • CPA Designation required.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience as a financial controller.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting & financial principles, regulations, procedures and best practices.
  • Experience in oil field completions and trucking would be an asset.
