Restaurant Manager –

Coyote Bills & The Dutton Chop House,

Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Pheasant Glen Golf Resort is launching an exciting new restaurant concept within the Clubhouse, Coyote Bills & The Dutton Chop House and is looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the service team.

The restaurant is a key component of the new Clubhouse and is the vibrant heart of Pheasant Glen Golf Resort, offering a welcoming space to relax and connect, where you can savour West Coast-inspired cuisine, enjoy drinks on the expansive decks, or celebrate a special event as the facility is designed for all occasions.

The restaurant and food & beverage facilities will consist of:

  • Restaurant with 100 seats indoors
  • Patio seating for 200
  • Conference room with licensing for up to 200 guests

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Restaurant Manager will be a key leadership role for the multiple new Food & Beverage operations, supporting the General Manager, with all aspects of the front-of-house operations, including events, and with team supervision and mentoring to ensure impeccable guest service while achieving operational, corporate and financial objectives.

Responsible for managing the daily operational oversight for all aspects of the restaurant, including guest service, reservations and maintaining the company’s brand standards. The Restaurant Manager will develop, lead and mentor the Service Team, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and accountability.

Additionally, the Position will support the General Manager with all events and catering services at the Clubhouse, developing the business, creating exceptional hospitality, providing services oversight and management of group bookings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Leading and administering the day-to-day operational functions of all restaurant operations

o Hiring, supervising and mentoring the service and banquet staff and assist, exemplifying a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

o Managing reservations, seating strategies and guest flow to maximize both the guest experience and operational efficiencies.

o Assisting in the development of and maintaining standard of performance policies, procedures and systems for exceptional and consistent service delivery standards.

o Creating and deliver training programs that are focused on high end dining service standards, food & beverage, wine service and guest engagement.

o Collaborating with the Executive Chef, Kitchen team, Beverage Manager and Special Events Coordinator to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

o Ensure smooth coordination between the front-of-house, the kitchen, bar and events services.

o Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, including those related to Health & Safety standards, practices, and adherence to WorkSafe BC principles and guidelines.

o Working with the General Manager on the development of the budget, including sales and labour cost objectives creating action items, timelines and key performance measures.

o Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with the local business community and residents to be able to anticipate their needs and preferences and make The Dutton Chop House & Grill the dining destination on the mid island.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

As a Hospitality Leader, you have:

o Minimum three (3) years’ restaurant leadership & management experience, ideally with historical success in opening a new restaurant.

o Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management preferred.

o Solid experience in leadership and team management within a hospitality environment.

o Be fully aware and knowledgeable in current restaurant food safety regulations and liquor licensing regulations.

o Strong demonstrated proficiency in point-of-sales (POS) systems, reservation platforms, scheduling software and basic computer applications.

o Excellent organizational and cost management skills.

o Experience with events and banquets.

o Demonstrated time management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to organize and prioritize a wide range of tasks efficiently.

o A reputation for uncompromising professional integrity, personal values, with a focus on customer service excellence.

o Independent self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach to business and able to work with minimal supervision.

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Base salary $70,000 - $85,000 per year, wage offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience.
  • Benefits package – after first six months of employment
  • Opportunity for Short Term Incentive pay (bonus) based on performance and at the sole discretion of the company.
  • Annual Vacation – 2 weeks (10 workdays)
