Full job description

We are seeking a Psychologist or Psychological Associate to join our interdisciplinary ADHD assessment service in Oakville.

Our preferred arrangement is a permanent, salaried position working four days per week. We are also open to an experienced clinician who would prefer a flexible, part-time independent-contractor arrangement.

The initial and primary focus of the position will be working collaboratively with a psychiatrist to provide comprehensive ADHD assessments and diagnostic clarification across the lifespan—children, adolescents, and adults. Over time, there may be opportunities to develop psychoeducational assessments, other psychological assessment services, psychotherapy, consultation, supervision, or program development.

Compensation and employment options

Our preferred arrangement is a permanent, salaried position working four days per week, with an annual salary of: $110,000–$150,000 per year

Placement within the salary range will depend on the successful candidate’s experience. Alternative salaried schedules may also be considered, with compensation adjusted according to the agreed schedule and responsibilities. Extended health benefits would only be available for the employment option.

We are also open to a flexible, part-time independent-contractor arrangement, compensated at: $220–$280 per hour

Placement within the contractor range will depend on experience. Scheduling and assessment volume can be tailored to the clinician’s availability and preferred level of commitment.

For either arrangement, workload and compensation expectations will be discussed transparently. This will include how the various components of assessment work—clinical interviewing, test administration, scoring, interpretation, consultation, report writing, feedback, documentation, and team meetings—are scheduled and recognized.

Why join us?

We offer:

  • A choice between the stability of salaried employment and the flexibility of independent contracting;
  • A preferred four-day salaried schedule;
  • Competitive and clearly stated compensation;
  • Direct collaboration with a psychiatrist in comprehensive ADHD assessment;
  • Opportunities to work with children, adolescents, and adults, according to your authorized populations;
  • Respect for your clinical autonomy and independent professional judgment;
  • Hybrid flexibility, with in-person and virtual work where clinically appropriate;
  • Administrative support and established clinic systems;
  • A comfortable, professionally designed clinic environment in Oakville; and
  • Opportunities to help shape and expand a specialized psychology and ADHD assessment service.

The ideal candidate is authorized and experienced in working with children, adolescents, and adults. We will also seriously consider a strong candidate whose authorized practice is limited to children and adolescents or to adults.

As the psychology service develops, there may be opportunities to expand into psychoeducational assessments, other psychological or diagnostic assessments, consultation, program development, supervision, or evidence-based psychotherapy. These are potential areas for future growth rather than the initial focus of the position.

What makes this role different

This is not simply a general private-practice position or a stand-alone testing role. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to an interdisciplinary ADHD assessment model in which psychological and psychiatric perspectives are brought together to help clients and families achieve greater diagnostic clarity.

You will maintain your professional autonomy while having access to meaningful consultation with a psychiatrist and other mental-health professionals. Psychology will not be an add-on to the service: your expertise and professional judgment will be central to both the assessment process and the future development of the program.

Employment options

Our preferred arrangement is:

A permanent, salaried position working four days per week.

We are also open to discussing:

  • A part-time salaried position;
  • A different salaried schedule;
  • A full-time salaried position; or
  • A flexible independent-contractor arrangement.

For an independent contractor, the schedule and volume of work could be tailored to the clinician’s availability. Compensation would be discussed transparently, including how interviewing, testing, scoring, report writing, feedback, consultation, meetings, cancellations, and other professional responsibilities are compensated.

Pay: $110,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Employee assistance program
  • Extended health care
  • Life insurance
  • On-site parking

Work Location: In person
