Drivers Auto Center – Salmon Arm, BC Job Type: Full-time Pay: Competitive starting at $22 per hour Schedule:Monday to Friday, rotating between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM and 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Role

We're seeking a professional, customer-focused Service Advisor to be the primary point of contact for our customers seeking vehicle maintenance, repairs, and tire services. You'll ensure every customer has a positive experience from the moment they walk in—listening to their concerns, explaining repair needs clearly, and keeping them updated throughout the service process. You'll work closely with our mechanics and tire technicians to prioritize jobs, coordinate workflow, order parts efficiently, and follow up post-service to build lasting customer loyalty.

This role is ideal for someone with mechanical knowledge, strong customer service skills, and genuine passion for keeping vehicles—and customers—running smoothly. If you're reliable, organized, great with people, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a welcoming, positive environment
  • Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues and service requests
  • Explain necessary repairs and maintenance procedures clearly and thoroughly, providing detailed estimates
  • Coordinate with mechanics and tire technicians to prioritize work orders and ensure timely completion
  • Track job progress throughout the day and keep customers informed of updates and any additional needs
  • Process cash transactions accurately, including payments and receipts
  • Maintain detailed records of all services performed, parts used, and labor hours
  • Order parts and tires from suppliers, confirm pricing and availability, and follow up on deliveries
  • Handle returns of unused or incorrect parts and tires to suppliers, including cores and warranty items
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any further needs, building loyalty
  • Keep the service area organized and maintain compliance with safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • Prior service repair or mechanical experience in an automotive shop, tire shop, or similar environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge—able to understand vehicle systems and repair procedures well enough to communicate with customers and technicians credibly
  • Dependable and punctual—we need someone we can count on to show up ready to work every day and keep things running smoothly
  • Tidy and organized—someone who maintains a clean, well-organized work environment and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills—someone who greets people warmly, listens carefully, and explains technical information clearly
  • Comfortable using a computer for work orders, invoicing, and scheduling
  • Comfortable and open to working with AI tools in day-to-day shop operations
  • Strong organizational skills—able to handle multiple priorities, record-keeping, and scheduling
  • Experience ordering parts and dealing with suppliers (or familiarity with the process)
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills—ability to build rapport with customers and work collaboratively with team members
  • Accurate cash handling and attention to detail for record-keeping
  • Valid driver's licence

Nice to Have

  • Previous service advisor or shop foreman experience
  • Dealership service environment experience
  • Experience with shop management software
  • Established relationships with local parts suppliers

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay starting at $22 per hour
  • Employee discounts on parts and labour
  • Full-time, stable hours with a supportive, professional team
  • Opportunity to build customer relationships and grow within the business

Why Join Us
