Norheim Ranching is a family owned and operated Mixed farm located south of Saskatoon. We have a commercial and purebred cattle operation with supporting grainland in both dryland and irrigated production.

Overview
We are seeking a motivated Farm Hand/Laborer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors across various farm operations, assisting with livestock care, equipment maintenance, and general farm duties. If you thrive in a hands-on environment and have a passion for agriculture, this position is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily livestock care, including feeding, watering, and monitoring animal health
  • Safely operate various types of farm equipment and light vehicles.
  • Ensures that farm machinery, equipment, and tools are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning farm machinery, equipment, and tools and making minor repairs within your capability.
  • Perform equipment repairs and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, welding, and basic mechanical skills
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm facilities and equipment storage areas
  • Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks

Skills

  • Supervising experience or ability to oversee team tasks when needed
  • Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment repair
  • Strong animal husbandry skills with experience in animal care and handling - especially with beef animals
  • Ability to operate forklifts, heavy machinery, and irrigation systems safely
  • 1A license is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with farming practices including cattle herd management, crop production and irrigated crop production
  • Experience with welding and basic equipment repairs to troubleshoot issues effectively
  • Knowledge of power tools, hand tools, and general maintenance tasks
  • Physical strength for heavy lifting and long hours working outdoors
  • Basic computer skills including email, word and excel familiarity
