We are seeking a team-oriented individual with culinary talent and a desire for small-town living who can help us create remarkable experiences at our historic hotel.

Who Are We?

Owner-operated and community-focused, the Wells Hotel is seeking to elevate our historic inn to a destination accommodation through ambience, authenticity, design, and experience. Food and drink plays a big part in building our Hotel vision.

Your Role:

  • Support the Head Cook in the daily food service operations of the hotel
  • Lead in preparing, cooking, and serving a weekend breakfast service for a 35-seat cafe
  • Cross-train on the dinner service to provide relief coverage to the team for holidays, leave, and special events
  • Collaborate on developing regular menus and periodic specials
  • Assist in growing catering and special events portfolio
  • Assist in training seasonal kitchen staff
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Handle and store ingredients, food, equipment, and dishes
  • Maintain inventory and communicate with Head Cook on re-stocking needs
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and dishes
  • Execute opening and closing procedures
  • Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • Perform periodic equipment breakdown and deep cleaning
  • Work as a member of team and maintain a cooperative attitude
  • Provide exceptional customer service and hospitality to guests and patrons

Our ideal candidate:

  • Formal culinary training or equivalent experience
  • Experience in kitchen and/or catering teams
  • Experience working in a lodge or other remote tourism-based setting
  • High commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and professionalism
  • Continuous learner and ready to grow with us

What you’ll get:
