Title: Catering Sales Specialist

Competitive Base Wage + Commission Structure

Reports To: VP Sales and Marketing

About the Role

Edge Catering is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Catering Sales Specialist to grow and manage both corporate accounts and event sales. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves building client relationships, and has a passion for food-driven experiences.

You will be responsible for generating new business, managing existing clients/accounts, and ensuring flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and returning clients. Respond promptly to inquiries via email, phone, or in-person meetings, ensuring a professional and friendly experience.

Sales & Proposal Development: Develop customized proposals based on client needs, including menu selections, event details, and pricing. Present offerings to clients and negotiate contracts to secure new business.

Prospect and Generate Leads: Identify new business opportunities and potential clients by actively researching, networking and reaching out to potential new business.

Event Coordination: Collaborate with clients to understand their event vision and requirements. Coordinate catering aspects of the event, including menu planning, timelines, staffing, and special requests.

Contract & Documentation Management: Prepare and manage contracts, event details, and payment schedules. Ensure that all paperwork is accurate and completed in a timely manner.

On-Site Event Oversight: Depending on the size and scope of the event, provide on-site support during events to ensure everything runs smoothly and address any last-minute issues or changes.

Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the culinary & operations team to ensure event execution is set up to meet client expectations.

Sales Reporting: Maintain and update appropriate tracking databases and reports on performance to management.

Sales Target Achievement: Actively work to meet and exceed sales targets by securing new clients and expanding business with existing clients. Track progress and report results to management.

Event Management Software Utilization: Efficiently manage client details, proposals, contracts, and event logistics using Total Party Planner (TPP) software. Maintain accurate records, update event changes, and generate reports to ensure seamless communication and execution across all departments

Marketing Support: Participate in outreach efforts such as networking events, trade shows, and client tastings to build brand awareness.

Customer Satisfaction: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that all client needs and concerns are addressed promptly. Post-event follow-up to gather feedback and maintain long-term client relationships.

Brand Representation

  • Represent Edge Catering professionally at networking events, and industry functions
  • Maintain knowledge of seasonal menus, pricing, and product offerings
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and promotions targeting corporate clients

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of sales experience (catering, hospitality, food service, or B2B preferred)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency with catering software sales management systems and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Valid driver’s license (if client visits are required)
