POSITION TITLE: Fibre Installer

LOCATION: Greater Sudbury

REPORTS TO: Fibre Manager

COMPANY:

We are seeing a full-time, dedicated, reliable fibre installer to join our fibre division in the Greater Sudbury area. SUMMARY:

As a fibre installer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of fibre optic networks at residential and business sites. This includes splicing fibre optic cables, testing connections, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring a high standard of quality and customer service. The role requires working various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional out-of-town assignments.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Representing Vianet professionally during field work and customer interactions

· Driving a company vehicle to residential and business sites for service calls

· Performing installations, upgrades, and maintenance of fibre infrastructure

· Completing all physical tasks: running cables, using ladders, operating bucket trucks, and installing equipment

· Testing, troubleshooting, and resolving service or network issues

· Maintaining accurate service records and communicating effectively with team members

· Establishing and maintaining relationships with customers.

· Adhering to all safety protocols and company policies

· Perform occasionally out of town and do overnight work as required.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· · Previous experience in telecommunications or technical field preferred

· Valid Ontario G-class driver's license with a clean abstract

· Strong computer skills and technical aptitude

· Comfortable working at heights (ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks)

· Safety-conscious with required certifications (or willing to obtain):

o Working at Heights, Fall Arrest, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, Bucket Truck, Ladder Safety (Vianet will provide safety training)

· Strong communication and customer service skills (both verbal and written)

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Professional, punctual, and reliable with strong work ethic

· Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
