Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role provides vital support to pharmacists and ensures the smooth operation of pharmacy services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, medical terminology, and medication management, with experience in hospital or pharmacy settings preferred. Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare and label prescriptions in accordance with medical orders and pharmacy protocols
  • Maintain organized inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate
  • Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on over-the-counter products
  • Manage patient records and update medication profiles with accuracy
  • Support medication administration processes under supervision, adhering to safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
  • Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and processing insurance claims as needed

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a hospital or pharmacy setting is highly desirable
  • Experience as a pharmacy technician or similar role is preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to service
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while maintaining confidentiality
