CGI is seeking a VBA/Python Developer – Securitization and Capital Markets to join a strategic team supporting a leading international financial institution.
You will become part of the Securitization IT team, responsible for the development, support, and enhancement of technology solutions that support securitization activities within the Capital Markets division. The team also plays a key role in a major modernization initiative aimed at replacing legacy applications with a next-generation technology platform.
In this role, you will contribute to the rapid delivery of business solutions, the continuous improvement of existing applications, and the transformation of technology platforms used by Capital Markets professionals.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain critical applications supporting securitization and Capital Markets business teams.
- Analyze business requirements and produce technical specifications.
- Develop new features while ensuring application performance, stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in the modernization and enhancement of existing applications.
- Collaborate closely with business users to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and support issue resolution.
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.
- Contribute to deployment and production release activities.
- Provide Level 3 application support and assist in resolving complex production issues.
- Ensure compliance with development standards, security requirements, and technology best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of system quality, resilience, and performance.
- Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to team members.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 3 to 5 years experience related to the position,
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets and financial products.
- Knowledge of or experience with securitization is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of credit risk concepts is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding business environment.
Technical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
- Knowledge of Pythont in Python
- Excellent knowledge of VBA (Excel and Access)
- Proficient in MSSQL (all versions)
- Web development experience is a significant asset
- Knowledge of software development best practices, documentation standards, and security principles.

- Highly autonomous with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong customer service and business partnership skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Languages
- Advanced English is required due to daily interactions with teams and stakeholders based in the United States.
- French is considered an asset.
CGI provides a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position. The determination of this range is based on various factors, including skill level, geographic market, experience, education, and professional licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific circumstances of each individual case. A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $115,000.
