Full job description

Together We Can is seeking a thoughtful, dependable, and community-minded Program Coordinator to help lead the day-to-day operations of our Spirit Path facility in Terrace, BC. This role is centred on supporting a safe, respectful, and well-run environment for participants, staff, and visitors, while helping ensure that services are delivered with compassion, accountability, and care.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily health and safety, operational effectiveness, and staff supervision within the facility. The successful candidate will help ensure alignment with internal policies and procedures, licensing and registration requirements, funder expectations, and society regulations, while providing clear direction and steady support to staff teams.

What you will do:

  • Oversee the day-to-day health and safety, operations, and supervision of the facility.
  • Conduct daily facility inspections and help maintain a safe, organized, and responsive environment.
  • Support the development, revision, and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and/or registration requirements, society regulations, and funder expectations.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to teams across the facility.
  • Respond to operational issues, safety concerns, and notable occurrences, and escalate them to the General Manager in a timely way.
  • Support staff in working with participants through a trauma-informed and culturally safe lens.
  • Help address participant behaviours, complaints, and safety concerns with professionalism, care, and good judgement.
  • Ensure reporting requirements and incident reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with training and orientation for new employees and volunteers.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews and support employee accountability in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Participate in daily debriefings and huddles to support communication and team coordination.
  • Be available for after-hours phone support when direction is needed.
  • Complete exit interviews with graduated participants and attend meetings with management and funders as required.

What you bring

  • A diploma or degree in Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or mid-management role in a similar setting.

Skills and strengths:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and sound judgement under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to emerging issues.
