Provides subject matter expertise in the design, development, management and implementation of strategic initiatives from business case development through execution. In this role, the Director, Strategic Initiatives will work closely with the Head, Canadian Consumer Credit (Retail Risk) . This position operates at the intersection of strategy, risk oversight, and business operations, strengthening execution discipline, governance, and operating effectiveness across the Canadian Consumer Credit function. The Director ensures that strategy is translated into structured plans, aligned execution, and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications
Experience & Expertise

Typically 9+ years of relevant experience and graduate degree in a related field (Business, Finance, Economics, or quantitative discipline) or equivalent experience.

Extensive experience in financial services, strategy, risk, consulting, or business transformation.

Strong understanding of retail credit risk, portfolio management, and/or model governance is an asset.

Recognized as a seasoned expert and thought leader with strong industry knowledge.

Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives with clear ownership of outcomes.

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
