Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our team. The Purchaser will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers; negotiate contracts and terms.
• Order Management: Place orders, monitor status, ensure timely delivery, and resolve order-related issues.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, manage records, and coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams.
• Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities; analyze market conditions and supplier performance.
• Cost Management: Evaluate pricing, implement cost-saving strategies, and ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure purchased goods meet quality standards; collaborate with quality control teams and address quality issues.
• Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations; maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Reporting: Prepare reports on procurement activities; analyze data and present findings to management.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of three years’ experience in purchasing and sales, preferably in the food industry.
• Proven experience in buying/selling in international and North American markets.
• Strong contract negotiation skills.
• Experience with commodities purchasing, particularly in the seafood industry, is highly preferred.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred for the position.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and other computer programs.
• Above-average math skills.
• Professional and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Punctual, dependable, and reliable.

Working Environment:

• Fast Paced and Exciting office environment
• Can only work out of the Victoria Office. Working remotely is not an option.
• Modern office in modern building convenient to Victoria and surrounding communities.
