Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist for travel assignments across various healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, excellent attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to different hospital settings. Prior hospital experience and proficiency in phlebotomy are highly desirable. This position requires a thorough understanding of medical terminology and data analysis skills to ensure accurate test processing and reporting.

***NOTE***

The location of this position is in Northern Ontario from July 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.

Duties

  • Perform a wide range of laboratory tests on blood, tissue, and other specimens with precision and adherence to safety protocols
  • Collect blood samples through venipuncture (phlebotomy) and prepare specimens for analysis
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and quality control
  • Analyze test results accurately, interpret data, and document findings in accordance with laboratory standards
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate diagnostic information
  • Maintain detailed records of tests performed, quality control procedures, and equipment maintenance
  • Follow strict safety guidelines and infection control procedures in all laboratory activities
  • Adapt quickly to different hospital environments, complying with each facility’s policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a hospital laboratory setting is preferred
  • Certification or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or equivalent is required
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and specimen collection is essential
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to laboratory testing
  • Experience with laboratory data analysis and interpretation of results
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
  • Flexibility to travel frequently for assignments across multiple locations
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety
